Joel's Bonnablog

Bonnablog 1
Thursday  4:14 CST

(please note...i am in a field in the middle of nowhere.  I have already have four beers.  Sentence frags, bad grammer, run on sentences, and in coherent musings may be happening through the weekend.  If you are an English Major.  Don't read my Bonnablog.  You will want to kill me)

Manchester, TN.  It seems like it has been more than four years since the first time I saw this place.  With no expectations in 2007 I was the definition of Bonnaroo Rookie.  Now....The Frankus dominates Bonnaroo!  Actually, The Bridge at 1055, 98X, and Hometeam BBQ DOMINATE Bonnaroo.  With at 36 ft. RV completely loaded...we are Rooing in style!  We even have satellite TV so I can watch The Celtics even the NBA Finals tonight!

The Bonnablog is gonna be a tad different this year.   In years past I have come and written nonsense at 4 in the morning and tried to keep it going through the day.  This year...everything is coming from The Frankusberry and we are going to run more of a Bonnaroo Diary.  More John Grisham than Shakespeare.  I mean...cmon!!! You want me in an air conditition media tent writing away while bands are playing and dirty hippy girls are showing their yams?  Ya, I didn't think so!

So far everything has been stellar.  From meeting up with my brother and his family last night to getting into Manchester and being hooked up.  Everything was taken care of this year.  We have our bigtime laminates.  We have our wrist bands...we are ready to go!

Be listening to The Bridge at 1055 and 98X for live updates from the Music Allies backstage Radio compound and for exclusive audio from the bands that the concert goers can't even get.  We were just back here laying down audio...talking about how much we wanted to see Manchester Orchestra tonight....and the lead singer of MO walked by and we put him on air!  If you can't be here...we are going to bring the festival to you.

Tonight....we some big shows from Manchester Orchestra, The Constellations, and FROM CHARLESTON, SC...NEEDTOBREATHE.  Without being cheesy and corny, I am so proud of those guys we used to see play for 100 people now playing a big stage at Bonnaroo!

I can't thank Tony Mckie and Aaron Siegel from Hometeam BBQ for helping us out with our RV and hooking us up with some of their fantastic BBQ for the trip.  Also, our friends at Sweetwater Brewerey are keeping us well hydrated throughout the festival!

Off the top of my head....JayZ, Stevie Wonder, Jeff Beck, Dave Matthews, Black Keys, She and Him, The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Conan Obrian, Norah Jones....all playing Bonnaroo!! Go to Bonnaroo.com and see the amazing full lineup.

The Bonnadiary starting later tonight...stay posted.

The Bonnajew!

ps....there's joshua james...gotta go say hello
