About Live at the Belly Up

It’s odd to think The Jayhawks never made an official full-band live album in all their years of impressive live shows. This 20-song, 80-minute set from the Belly-Up Tavern near San Diego was recorded in January 2015 during their tour in support of their reissued catalog; it's strictly a digital-only release. This set features Gary Louris, Kraig Johnson, Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, Tim O’Reagan, and former violinist Jessy Greene. Several Golden Smog tunes feature in a set mostly culled from the albums Sound of Lies, Smile, and Rainy Day Music, though “Waiting for the Sun” is an obvious highlight.
