5. Seeing the Pretenders at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey: I was lucky enough to get a ticket to see Chrissie Hynde in this small club setting. Whether she was belting out an ‘in your face’ rocker or a touching torch song, she is as bad a** as ever. My female Keith Richards!
4. ‘Dolenz sings R.E.M’: Mickey Dolenz from the Monkees released an EP of 4 R.E.M. covers that I just loved. Even Michael Stipe said hearing him do the songs “Monkees style” blew him away! And the video for ‘Shiny Happy People’ brought tears!
3. The video for the Rolling Stones song ‘Angry’: Seeing various younger versions of themselves jump off Sunset Strip billboards is an incredible work of art and reinforces why they really are the greatest rock and roll band in the world!
2. The documentary ‘Little Richard: I Am Everything’: A treasure trove of mind-blowing archival footage. Watch this and you will understand why he is so revered!
1. Seeing The Cure in Atlanta: Robert Smith’s voice/guitar playing and electrifying hair and visuals brought on non-stop goosebumps! Longest standing ovation I’ve ever witnessed from a crowd!
